Description

Noto is a fascinating Sicilian town considered to be a "small capital of art".

This recognition also came thanks to UNESCO, which defined the art of Noto as the pinnacle of the Baroque in Europe.

Noto is known as a stone garden whose flowers are bell towers and domes.

Starting from a walk along the main street of the city, you can admire several convents, churches and noble palaces that are striking for their scenic architecture and rare beauty.

In the main square we will visit the Cathedral, with its imposing dome and Palazzo Ducezio: you will have the impression of being in a specially created film set.

We will continue with the Church of Santa Chiara, with its precious decorations, and the Church of San Domenico, characterized by one of the most beautiful facades of late Sicilian Baroque architecture.

We will admire the small Vittorio Emanuele Theater, a hidden gem in the nineteenth-century style.

The Palazzo Nicolaci is dating back to the end of the eighteenth century, famous for the decorations under the balconies representing fantastic and grotesque figures.

We will refresh ourselves with a tasty almond granita, a typical product of the area.

We will continue to Marzamemi, a fishing village that will leave you breathless. Marzamemi is famous for its tonnara of Arab origin and its main square overlooked by the church, the fishermen's houses and the Villadorata Palace.

After a nice walk through the picturesque alleys, full of bars and restaurants, you will be able to enjoy a tasting of preserved fish products. You can also buy various preserves, evidence of a production activity that is still the core of the village's economy.

We will finish the tour with an aperitif on the natural harbor called Balata, an enchanting square to photograph.
