Description
Ragusa is a city rich in history, clearly visible from its stratifications: it is distinguished in fact in the upper city and the lower city.
The lower part, called Ibla, reflects the oldest part of the city: today it has become the perfect destination for a relaxing stay.
The tour lets you to admire the splendid and imposing churches and the many noble palaces. Each building here is not only the result of a whimsical art but is also the result of a typically Sicilian joie de vivre.
Ragusa is a city that is all downhill. The upper part is connected to the lower one by a winding road and the typical stairs that offer glimpses to be photographed.
The route ends with Ibla and its fantastic Iblei Gardens: here there is a fantastic panoramic terrace overlooking the valley, right in front of Ragusa, capable of offering memorable views.
We will move to Modica. A wonderful city that boasts the title of UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In its glorious past, it was above all a feudal entity, the County of Modica, from the thirteenth to the nineteenth century. In terms of size and historical-political importance, it was a very important fiefdom, and its territory included almost the entire area that corresponds to today's province of Ragusa.
Today it still represents one of the most elegant cities in Italy and walking through its streets, it is possible to admire surprising panoramic views of the city and imposing historic buildings such as the two cathedrals of the city: the Cathedral of St. George and that of St. Peter.
Modica is famous all over the world for its chocolate.
A tour of the city is always accompanied by a chocolate tasting in one of the many bars present, often with demonstrations that end with the pleasure of taking home some bars as a souvenir of the trip.
